SUMMER

Summer is almost here! Ive been sick lately don't have time to be sick. I have so much to do with finals coming up. I have to work on my portfolio, write a paper for theatre about the Full Monty (which was amazingly great and hilarious), an anatomy practical on Monday, an Anatomy test on Tuesday, Biology piratical on Thursday, then all my finals. I'm just so ready for summer to be here, even though I'm just going to be working a lot but that doesn't bother me. I am going to North Caroline though at the beginning on June to visit my cousin and stay with her and her two kids. I will be staying with her for a week and then my parents and brothers will be driving up after a week and then we will be going to Myrtle beach for a week and my cousin and her two kids are coming with us. Then after we get back from vacation i will be back to work and having to take a history class online. So much to do in such little time!

Monday
Class started with Sarah reading her log. Then we discussed different articles that we would possibly want to write about for the in class essay that is on Wednesday. Articles we talked about were about how ball state police are abusing their power, Tobacco tax is unfair to smokers, Darfur, and asteroid will hit the earth on Friday April 13th, 2009, and Death of newspapers?

We had an in class essay. We could either pick how ball state police are abusing their power or how more newspapers are moving their printed versions to online websites.

Fridays free write

We have another in class free write today to talk about whatever we want. Right now i can not believe how cold it is outside. Then to think that Monday and Tuesday it is going to snow. It is April! It is suppose to be getting warmer outside, not colder. And to think that its cold here and right now my whole family (besides me!) is in Florida this past week. It sucks not having the same spring break as my brothers still in middle and high school. This weekend i have a lot to do. I have three different test coming up this next week. I have an anatomy test, sociology test, and microbiology test. I cant wait for summer to be here and get a long break from school and having to study and do a bunch of homework. Only 35 more days of school? I think. Actually i cant wait till i graduate and never have to go to school again but thats a long way away. I am not going home so i can stay here and get more studying done and i dont have to work which i kind of wish i was working though i dont know why.

Free Writing

Right now we are suppose to just start writing on here for twenty minutes. The starting idea was to write about one of the papers we are going to revise for our portfolio. I cant even think of the papers we have done this semester. The one that comes to mind is the last one that we did which was about firearms for me. It needs a lot of revision done to it. When i first wrote it i didn't really know what i wanted to write. There was just different ideas throughout the whole paper. As the paper went on i started to get more of an idea of what i wanted the paper to be about. I had saved writing the paper till the last minute and the paper shows that. I think i am going to focus more on the safety and how they are misused and what people can do to prevent that. There was a story about how a little boy found his dads gun and accidentally shot his sister or something like that and i want to use that in the paper and then tell how people need to be more careful. I should also state the laws they have right now about guns and if i agree or disagree with what the laws say or how i would change them to improve them and why.
But it is finally Friday and the next two days i can sleep in and do nothing. I do however have to study for all my anatomy. I have a test and a practical. I need to learn everything on the eye and the heart still and some of the ear and then go over the arm and leg nerves. It is so much to learn in such a little time. I really need to get good grades on both of these things. Im not going home this weekend so i should get a lot of studying done. I need to clean my room too, its kind of a mess. And i now do not know what else to write about but time is up.

Spring break is over but i still need another week off, the one week is never long enough. I did end up going to Florida though! I went to Orlando with my sister and my dad since he just got home. It was so nice. We went to universal and it was fun but the vacation wasn't long enough. When i got back i worked a lot to make some money. Now its back to school and i have an Anatomy practical on Monday and an Anatomy test on Tuesday. School sucks!

is it spring break yet?

It is finally the weekend! My parents just came down and had dinner with me. It is really good that my dad is finally home. Spring break is next week and there is so much to do before it starts. I have three tests this coming week. Monday i have to take a sociology exam, Tuesday i am taking an anatomy exam, and Thursday i have a biology exam. I was going to go home this weekend since my dad just got home but i knew if i did i wouldn't study so i just stayed at the dorm. I just cant wait for a whole week off!

*TUESDAY*

So my dad ended up not coming home this weekend. They got delayed in the process to come home. He should be coming home now on Tuesday. It was good to go home, even though my dad didn't. I have so much homework to catch up on now.

MY DAD

My dad is coming home from Iraq! He had been stuck in Iraq for a couple extra days then expected because of the weather but he finally left two days ago to go to Kuwait. He was in Kuwait for like one night and then he left for Ft. Dix, New Jersey. They have to stay there for about a week to make sure everyone is mentally alright to come home. He should be home later Sunday or Monday. I can't wait!

CONCLUSION- state solutions- no matter what solution is taken, something needs to be done.

Paper #1- Thesis- Talking on the phone while driving is reckless driving and should not be done at the same time.

Paper #2-Thesis- Talking on the phone and driving is a problem that has recently become more dangerous than ever, and needs to be taken care of.

Anatomy

Lately i have been so busy. Yesterday i had my first practical in anatomy. I was so nervous. I had studied all day yesterday and went to the study room Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I knew i knew everything but i was freaking out. I was in the study room for two hours before it started until my friend made me leave to go eat and to calm down. After it was over i was really happy because there was only like five out of fifty that i didn't know. Now i have to start studying for my anatomy exam i have next Monday. Its never ending!

Sociology

I'm sitting in Sociology class right now watching My Big Fat Greek Wedding. I have no idea why but its better then the professor lecturing. So i cant wait till this weekend. I am going home because today is my moms birthday. So today i have to finish up my paper on the solution to the cell phone while driving problem so i don't have to worry about it tomorrow. I also have to study for my sociology test that i have to take tomorrow. Which i don't know what to study because i really cant follow the professors lectures. Like in our first class he said he didn't know how to entertain us and thats what he is suppose to do so if we want each day we can have a little talent show in class. Why? Just teach since that is his job.

I cant wait for spring!

This weekend went by really fast. I went home and had to work but it was worth it. I finally got my car back now and it look brand new. Now its back to school and homework and walking to class in the freezing cold again. The snow was almost gone and i wake up this morning and the ground was covered again. Tonight we are going to get another one to three inches and then again the next night. I think its pretty at first but then its cold and i hate it. I cant wait for spring!

I cant believe tomorrow is already Friday. This week has gone by so fast. I keep forgetting to blog so I'm going to try to do better on that. I'm getting ready to start writing my paper for English class. Not sure about what I'm going to write about yet so i think I'm going to start doing that right now. =]

Final

So I'm in class right now and Casey was just telling us how next semester blogging will be worth 10% so i decided that i would log on and blog really fast. Everyone good luck on your finals! Have a great break!

Today we learned how to use the MLA formatting with owl at Purdue. We looked at how to use in-text citations.Casey told use to use PFD's if possible because its like viewing the article in its original form. For the in class essays we must have at least one source from the article or book that we are writing on and then one other source that relates to the article. Jenna read her log and then we were had the rest of the class time to work on our essays.

Even though i wasnt in class, Casey showed us how to use the universities articles and databases online. We learned how we can find articles by using keywords about our subject. Casey used Vonnegut as a topic example. JSTOR was the main database we used and seemed to be the best. After he showed us how to do all of that, we did research for our in class essays the rest of the time.

Internet

So the internet was down all night last night and i couldn't even post my paper on blackboard but its working now and i got it posted. It made me mad though. The whole woodworth building had no internet and some people even had owl homework that they still had to do that was due last night which would suck. Well i went home this past Saturday and my dog had 12 puppies and surprisingly she had 3 white ones. They are boxers so white ones are really rare. There is one runt though and boxers get their tails cut and the runt couldn't because the vet said it would cause to much stress and it would die. So we are feeding it threw a bottle and trying to make it stronger. They are so cute though!

Random

This past weekend was alright. I went home and Friday night was family night and we all played games. Then Saturday night we all got up early to take my dad to the airport to go back to Iraq. I then had to work Saturday night and Sunday morning. I then came back to BSU. I am debating on whether or not i should go home this next weekend or not. I am staying here on Friday night but i might go home Saturday. One of my dogs is going to have puppies some time this week. It is her first litter. My other dog has had three litters of puppies. Its so hard to give them away though when its time.

SURPRISE!

About two weeks ago now I wasn't feeling very good and my mom kept saying that she would come up and we would go out to eat and I kept telling her no. Well the next day I ended up telling her she could come and she said my sister was going to come too. When she got here I went out to the van and my two brothers were out there. I thought it was kind of funny and I was like they got made to come because they would not normally come. We started driving and things kept getting thrown at me. My brother Drew was sitting behind me so I assumed it was him. Then my dads ID got thrown at me. I just kind of looked at it and since hes in Iraq I just thought "I thought he had that with him." So I threw it back at my brother and yelled quite throwing things at me. It was thrown at me again so I just handed it to my mom. Then my dads wallet got thrown at me. I just looked at it and thought to myself I thought he would have had this with him too. I then handed the wallet to my sister who was in the front seat. Everyone was laughing but I didn't think of anything. My sister then pointed behind me and when I looked behind me my dad was standing up in the trunk of the van. I was in complete shock Ithought I was seeing things. My dad is only home from Iraq for two weeks and leaves to go back this Saturday. Ive been going home the past couple weeks to be at home. It sucks that I have to be stuck here at BSU and cant even see my dad even when he is home.

Class Assignment

English 101
1. I feel confident in asking question when i have them to help me better understand thing, then when writing i know what I'm writing about and when reading i don't get confused.
2. I understand that inquiry can be visual as in looking up what you don't know or want to know and it can be verbal as in asking someone questions to find something out or understand it.
3. If you are unsure that the audience might get confused or question what you are talking about in the paper, then go ahead and elaborate on it in case.
4. In a way to argue someone has to question what you have written.
5. The revision process and reviewing papers can help become a better writer.
6. I feel that i am almost able to get all the information that i need and bring it together to write a good paper.
7. I feel confident in being able to work well with others
8. I feel i need to work on researching for more information that i need and asking questions
9. I take responsibility for my own work and if i didn't do the research i need to do, then its my own fault.

Course Content & Format
1. When i am reading something and don't understand something i do ask questions.
2. We have went over many different writing in class
3. Write thought brainstorming, writing, editing, and revising to do the best that you can do.
4. When writing a paper it takes more then one draft and should have many people edit and revise the paper.
5. To organize ideas for a paper an outline is a good way to set the paper up .
6. I have written different papers and edit and revise them to get them ready for the writing portfolio.
